Saints
All about Saints:
Saints began in September 2024, created through a St George’s Church project called
Flourish that is funded by the National Church. It was designed to support schools to
create worshipping communities where children take a leadership role in designing and
delivering in the space.
Saints Club runs on a Wednesday afterschool, 3:15pm-4:30pm. You can sign your child
up via Arbor. At Saints Club, we explore faith, hear stories from the Bible, and learn
more about the Christian faith and our own faith journeys – in a fun, interactive and
creative way!
Over the past two years, we have covered topics such as prayer, leadership in the Bible,
finding God through the animals, the Mysteries of Faith series, and many more.
We also run a Eucharist service every half term. Local priests, including Father Sam our
parish vicar of St George’s Church, join us to preside at this service. All the children take
an active part in this service and it provides leadership opportunities alongside spiritual
development.
Children do not need to be Christian, or have any particular faith, to participate in
Saints. The club is run by the church and Christian learning is part of the regular
activities. All worship, learning and activities at Saints are invitational and encourage
children to acknowledge and learn more about their own spirituality and faith.
Miss Gilbert, who is also the Pastoral Manager at school, leads Saints and is always
happy to answer any questions or talk with our children and families about the project.
Ask at the office if you would like to speak with her!
Saints Does Summer 2026:
In 2025, we launch a Saints summer provision for a week in August and taking place at
St George’s Church Edgbaston. It was a privilege to be able to do the same in summer
2026.
This year our theme was ‘Journeys’. We thought about the different kinds of journeys
that we see in the Bible and explored the friendship of Naomi and Ruth, the
reconciliation of Jacob and Esau, and the Israelites journey through the wilderness to
reach the promised land. The children made a fantastic effort to show their learning –
including junk models of the Exodus story!
The members of the Youth created a physical journey in church over the week, inspired
by their learning about the famous Camino de Santiago – the Camino de San Jorge. This
provided a brilliant chance for them to lead the other children in a journey around the
church, collecting stamps and reflecting prayerfully as they travelled.
We ended the week with another joyful MaryFest, celebrating the Assumption of Our
Lady, where we thought about Mary’s final journey to be with her son in heaven. We had
a Eucharist service and adorned our Mary statue with flowers and the rocks we had
painted in the week – all while wearing our handmade Mary bracelets, of course!
Saturday Saints:
In November 2025, we launched Saturday Saints! A Saturday morning gathering of our
Saints community for Christian worship, craft, learning and sharing a light breakfast
together.
