Our School
St George’s Church of England Primary School, Edgbaston, is a vibrant and inclusive one-form entry primary school situated in the heart of Edgbaston, Birmingham. As a Church of England school, we proudly uphold a strong Christian ethos that shapes our school community.
Inspired by Jesus’ words, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10), our Christian school vision aims for everyone at St. George’s to flourish together and enjoy life to the fullest. This dedication to high-quality education within a Christian framework fosters a nurturing and supportive environment, serving the local community and building each other up. Our curriculum not only focuses on academic excellence but also instils Christian values, fostering empathy, courage, and integrity among students. We value inclusivity and justice, ensuring every child feels valued and loved.
With approximately 210 pupils on roll, St. George’s provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child is encouraged to flourish spiritually and emotionally. Our school building, in an excellent state of repair, serves as an inspirational environment for learning, complemented by extensive outdoor spaces for the children to enjoy.
As part of the Birmingham Diocesan Multi-Academy Trust, we benefit from a strong network of support and collaboration with other schools. This partnership gives us access to a wealth of resources and expertise, enhancing our ability to provide high-quality education to our pupils.
At St. George’s, we offer a comprehensive educational experience, starting with our Early Years Foundation Stage comprising a 30-place Reception class. We also have two Key Stage 1 classes and four Key Stage 2 classes. Our dedicated staff team is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences that cater to the individual needs and talents of each child.
St. George’s is more than just a place of learning; it is a community where pupils, staff, and families come together to grow, learn, and thrive. We provide a holistic education that nurtures the whole child, preparing them for a future where they can make a positive impact on the world.
We recognise the invaluable role that parents play in supporting their children’s learning journey. We are committed to fostering strong partnerships with parents and carers to ensure the best possible outcomes for our pupils. By working collaboratively with parents, we aim to create a supportive home-school relationship that enhances the educational experience for every child.
